“El Mejor Amigo del Hombre” or “Men’s Best Friend” is a poem I wrote while reflecting on the local neglected or abandoned dogs issue occurring in Puerto Rico. In this instance I chose to write from an imagined dog’s point of view. I find that there is a great deal of responsibility in lending a voice to those who don’t have one. My son Hektor Thillet performs and lends his voice to this great friend we all share named dog. Hopefully I can upload some english lyrics soon. Enjoy!
