After something felt off about the song for a while, it became clear that the drums needed to play in half-time, or nothing would sound right. Not even sure why, it was like the choice was made for me.

In fact, much of what defines this song for me is little things that shouldn’t work, but are close enough to making sense that your brain just accepts it.
