Ophelia's Song

Audio Morphology

I wanted to preserve the vocal and song structure, so I sped it up slightly (140bpm) and set it against a fairly traditional jazz ochestration.

The sax section is 4 Tenors, Baritone & Soprano (all played by me).

I harmonised the vocal by hand, which was fairly timeconsuming (note to self: must buy Melodyne!).

I had trouble finding a percussion part I was happy with and so ended up just standing in front of a microphone with a shaker.

The various bloops and whistles are a nod in the direction of the quirkiness of the Musetta original.
